Two of the most talented and spectacular actresses Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah are coming together on-screen with their upcoming film ‘Jalsa’. In the thriller, Vidya plays a role of a journalist, Maya Menon who is in search of truth. Recently while promoting her film, Vidya Balan encountered a hilarious question where someone asked her whether the film is about Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Jalsa? Known for her wittiness, she gave an apt reply.
Vidya has shared the silver screen with the megastar in films like Paa and Te3n and Shefali Shah has worked with Big B in Waqt. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, both shared the incident when someone asked them if their film is a biopic on Amitabh Bachchan’s house and did they discussed the title with Amitabh. Vidya replied and said, “Yeah, that it’s a biopic on Mr. Bachchan’s house. Can you believe it?” Further recalling the incident the Tumhari Sulu actress said, “So when someone asked me ki ‘kya aapki film Mr Bachchan ke ghar ki bopic hai ? To maine kaha us sawaal ke jawab ke liye aapko ‘pratiksha’ karni padegi”. And if you don’t know, Pratiksha is the name of Amitabh Bachchan’s other bungalow. Hilarious right!
Hearing Vidya’s witty response, both the stars broke into laughter. Later Shefali Shah suggested to Vidya Balan that they should have agreed with them that their movie is about Big B’s house.
Jalsa has been directed by Suresh Triveni, which marks the second collaboration of Vidya with him after ‘Tumhari Sulu’. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on 18th March.
