Vidya Balan, who is one of the most popular and sought-after stars in the Bollywood film industry, had made her screen debut with the Parineeta in 2005, directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The film received critical acclaim and won four Filmfare Awards. Sarkar went on to win the National Award for Best Debut Film. Parineeta was showcased at several international film festivals.

In her 16 years of career, Vidya has given some award-winning performances and also given Indian cinema some of the most iconic and powerful women on screen.  In an exclusive interview with SpotboyE Vidya talks about her journey, "I completed 16 years in the industry on 10th June! Parineeta was released on that day, we were all in Amsterdam for the premiere. It’s been a wonderful journey, very fulfilling, I have learned a lot and I’ve received so much love that I am forever grateful and I keep saying how can this get any better." She adds, "My father had called me and said can you believe it's been 16years for you and I was like Oh my God, 16 years just flew by for me."


Vidya has given huge blockbusters and some epic performances, in films like Kahaani, The Dirty Picture, Tumhari Sulu, however, there were some films like Kismaat Konnection, Ghanchakar which failed at box-office ask the actress if she is happy with the career choices she replies, "Oh absolutely happy, I am very grateful. See sometimes films don’t work but who is to say that if I had not chosen that film, it would have work. In films, you really can’t predict. Success and failure, ups and downs are part of life, so I don’t regret anything."


Vidya Balan will next be seen in Amit Masukar's directorial Sherni which is expected to set the record straight up high and make Sherni a roaring hit! The film is set to release on 18th June on Amazon Prime Video
