Bollywood actress Vidya Balan enjoys a huge fan base, owing to her down-to-earth personality, calm demeanour, and versatile performances. On Tuesday evening, she along with the rest of the Bollywood fraternity attended late singer Pankaj Udhas’ last rites at his residence. Amid the gloomy atmosphere, a persistent fan was seen continually clicking selfies with the actress, despite her team trying to intervene and stop him. As videos of the same went viral on social media, enraged netizens started condemning the insensitive act.
In a video posted by Voompla on Instagram, Vidya is seen walking alongside her team as she reaches the residence of the late singer to pay her respects to his grieving family. As she walks a fan arrives there and starts clicking photos. Despite the efforts of her team to keep the man away from the actress, he persists. All the while, she kept her calm as her team dealt with the matter. Netizens have taken to their social media handles to express their shock and shame at the act of the fan. Taking to the comment section of the post, one wrote, “This is so shameful. Clicking a selfie at this sensitive moment. its like harassment. For the unversed, Pankaj Udhas’ untimely demise left the country heartbroken. He breathed his last at the age of 73, due to a prolonged illness. Confirming the news of his passing through a press statement, his family shared, “In loving memory of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas. With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of his demise on the 26 of February 2024 due to a prolonged illness. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, February 27, from 3 to 5 pm.
