Vidya Sinha is no more. The actress died in CritiCare Hospital, Juhu at 12 noon. We have confirmed the sad news from CritiCare a few minutes back and bring it to you with a very heavy heart.
Vidya was in in a critical state since last week, when she was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition. While her blood pressure and pulse rate at the moment were stabilised, she was immediately pout on a PAP (Positive airway Pressure) ventilator.
If the PAP was being removed, her oxygen levels tended to drop and she became breathless. The 71-year-old actress had developed lung and cardiac disorders both. The lung disorder had originated a few years ago and got aggravated since three months.
Vidya had been leading a turbulent life on her marital front. On January 9, 2009, Vidya filed a police complaint against her (second) husband Netaji Bhimrao Salunkhe of physical and mental torture. They were divorced soon afterwards, and after a protracted battle she won her case against him for maintenance. Yours truly had called her sometime back, but the dignified lady that she is, chose to not wash her dirty linen in public.
Before Netaji Bhimrao, she had married her neighbor, a Tamil Brahmin named Venkateshwaran Iyer in 1968 and adopted a daughter Jhanvi in 1989. Iyer died in 1996.
May Vidya's soul rest in peace. We stand by her daughter Jhanvi in her moment of crisis.
