Vinod Khanna No More: Amitabh Bachchan Cancels Interviews, Baahubali 2 Premiere Called Off
The ‘70s superstar’s death has shocked and saddened the Bollywood fraternity. To mourn Vinod Khanna’s passing, Baahubali 2 screening has been cancelled while Amitabh Bachchan called off all his interviews and rushed to the hospital
Vinod Khanna, the evergreen heartthrob of Indian cinema is no more. Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday morning after a headline grabbing stint at the hospital and the icon’s death has shocked the film fraternity. After the news broke at noon, Bollywood stars started tweeting while others rushed to the Hurkison Das Hospital (Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre) where Vinod Khanna had breathed his last.
After receiving the saddening news, Amitabh Bachchan cancelled all the scheduled promotional interviews for Sarkar 3 and headed to the hospital. He was among those who offered their condolences to the grieving family including wife Kavita Khanna, sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi, and daughter Shraddha Khanna.
The makers of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion too decided to make a gesture of respect towards the deceased superstar and cancelled the much-awaited premiere of the film which was to be held on Thursday evening.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved, the legendary Vinod Khanna. The demise has come as a huge shock to all of us. As a mark of respect for our dearly departed, the premiere event of Baahubali : The Conclusion is now cancelled,” read the message sent out by Team Baahubali 2.
Vinod Khanna’s funeral will be held at the Banganga crematorium in Malabar Hills this evening at 4 pm.
