Vipul Shah Adresses Allegations Against The Kerala Story Being Based On Inaccurate Facts; Says, ‘People Will Get The Answers In Due Time’
Filmmakers Vipul Shah and Sudipto Sen are all set to narrate a heart-wrenching story featuring Adah Sharma in the lead role. The teaser of their collaborative movie ‘The Kerala Story’ was release a month ago. As soon as the teaser was release on the internet, the makers were subjected to criticism as people alleged that they have misinterpreted the facts and blown them out of proportion. It was also being said that the movie is based on ‘inaccurate facts.’ Few politicians even called a ban on the movie.

However, a month after facing such allegations, Shah addressed everything that is being said about their movie during a chat with Mid-Day. He shared that the team of The Kerala Story will never talk about the issue without evidence. The producer also revealed that the director of the film has spent over four years extensively researching about the facts and figures.

Quoted by Bollywood Hungama, Vipul said, “We will address [the accusations] in due time. Nothing we say will be without the evidence. When we present our facts and figures, people will get the answers. Whether they choose to accept them or not is their choice. Director Sudipto Sen has researched extensively for four years before starting the film.”

He went on to share that as a filmmaker he will always tell a story that touches his heart and not focus on whether that story is pro-establishment or against. He said, “We are making a film on a big tragedy. If I feel that I want to tell this story as a filmmaker, then, discussion on whether I am pro-establishment or not will only reflect an individual’s point of view. As a filmmaker, I only think of the story that touches my heart, and moves me enough to want to narrate it.”

For the unversed, in the teaser Adah’s character Shalini Unnikrishnan can be seen narrating her life story where she starts by saying that she is a nurse who aims to protect people. However, she further states that she has become an ISIS agent in Afghanistan jail. She goes on to say that there are 32,000 women apart from her who are facing a similar situation, where they are being force to convert and sent to Syria, Yemen as terrorists. The racket has been functioning openly in the state, with many women falling prey to it each time.
