Amitabh Bachchan’s family action-drama - Sooryavansham is one of the most-watched movies on television. For some, it might be BigB’s pathbreaking piece in the genre or it might be most cringe pieces of Bollywood which is strangely entertaining. The 1999 drama is a regular phenomenon on Sony Max and considering its emergence as a cult classic status, social media is fill with hilarious memes about the channel’s love for the movie and how frequently it is telecasted.

However, an individual seems to be fed up with the Amitabh Bachchan starrer and has written a letter to the channel and it is been doing the rounds on social media.  

The letter boasted some of the most mind-boggling questions about the feature film including, how much of this film featuring Heera Thakur has been aired on the channel, and how many times the film will be telecast in future followed by many such funny questions.


The letter appears to be the representation of all the questions Indians have been longing to be answered, considering the amount of screen time the film has bagged over the years.  

The man wrote in his letter: “Your channel has the viewing rights to the film. My family and I are well-versed with Heera Thakur and his family. After watching the extra innings of Sooryavansham, we have learnt it by heart. I want to know how many times your channel has telecast this film.” 

In conclusion, the gentleman also asked, if we (referring to people who have watched this film or who wish to view it) go ‘mad; after watching this film, who will be responsible for the same?  

He further added, “Also, how many times will you telecast the movie in the future? If our mental health is adversely affected (madness) then who should be held responsible? Please provide the information.”

Interestingly, the letter has taken the internet by storm and it has garnered a lot of reactions from other users!

‘Sooryavansham’ is a 1999 film which stars Amitabh Bachchan in a double role as Bhanupratap Singh and his son Heera Thakur. While Heera does not have a good relationship with his father for being illiterate, although he is determined to fulfil his father’s dream. 

The film also stars Soundarya, Rachna Banerjee, Anupam Kher, Mukesh Rishi and Kader Khan. Directed by EVV Satyanarayana, the film is considered a cult classic.
