Filmmaker Karan Johar recently raised eyebrows on social media after an old video of him where he talked about wanting to murder Anushka Sharma’s career went viral. Now Vivek Agnihotri and Apurva Asrani have reacted to this throwback clip, slamming KJO. The two took nasty digs at Karan Johar on their respective Twitter handles. Vivek mentioned someone’s only hobby is to break the careers of the actor. He went on to allege that if "Bollywood is in the gutter" it is because of such people.

Taking to his Twitter handle, he shared an old interview of Karan where he was seen sitting with Anushka and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Alongside it, the Kashmir Files director wrote, “Someone’s only hobby is to make or break careers. If Bollywood is in gutter, it’s because of some people’s dirty ‘backroom’ politics against talented outsiders.” Apurva wrote, “'I totally wanted to murder Anushka Sharma's career' - Karan Johar confesses to Rajeev Masand & Anupama Chopra in 2016. Said in jest, I'm sure, but still a worthy point in the raging insider-outsider debate.”

In the viral video, shared by a Reddit user, Karan during his interaction with Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra, confessed that he was unhappy with Aditya Chopra’s decision to sign the actress as he had another lead actress in mind who he wanted the YRF’s head honcho to sign. Karan said in the video, “I totally wanted to, completely murder Anushka Sharma’s career. Because when Aditya Chopra showed me her image, I was like, ‘no, no, mad or what, you signing her, you crazy! There is no need for you to sign this Anushka Sharma’. There was another lead actress at that time who I wanted Adi to sign and I was totally behind the scene sabotaging her completely. The movie also I was reluctantly watching Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.”

While Karan made this explosive revelation, Anushka was seen laughing in the clip. The director also showed praise on the actress, saying it was her brilliant performance in 'Band Baaja Baaraat' that changed his perception. Karan stated he felt he owed an apology to her as he would have actually ruined the graph of an exceptional talent like Anushka.
