Before entering Bigg Boss 17, Ankita opened up to BBC Hindi, recounting her breakup with Sushant and the emotional journey thereafter. She disclosed waiting for over two years, hoping for reconciliation, until one decisive moment. Ankita made a poignant choice to remove all photos of her and Sushant from her home, realizing that holding onto the past might hinder her chances of finding new love. "For two and a half years, I held onto hope. But one day, on the 31st of January... There were numerous photos of us in my house. That day, I decided and told my mother to remove all the photos. I felt it was necessary to make room for someone new," she emotionally shared in the interview. Ankita acknowledged that after this decision, Vicky entered her life. Although she didn't directly remove the photos, she expressed her feelings to her mother, who then cleared them away. This marked a turning point for her, and within six months, she found companionship with Vicky, leading to their marriage in 2021.
However, within the Bigg Boss house, tensions between Ankita and Vicky escalated. A recent incident unfolded when Vicky opted to switch rooms, leaving Ankita alone, resulting in her fury. Ankita expressed her anger, accusing Vicky of using her for the show and even suggested playing the game independently, questioning their marital status in the heat of the moment.
