Jacqueliene Fernandez recently opened up about the bad advices she received during her early days in the Hindi film industry
Bollywood actress Jacqueliene Fernandez has made a name for herself in the Hindi film industry with her determination and hard work. Having become a fan favourite due to her dancing skills, she is currently making a mark with her versatile performances. The Sri Lankan beauty is currently busy attending the film premieres at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. During an interview with the Brut India, she recently opened up about her experience of working in Bollywood as an actor and the challenges she has face up until now.
Jacqueliene went on to shed light on the bad advice she had received when she had come to India to become an actress. Recalling the beginning of her career, she shared how she was talking to another actor at a gym, explaining to him how she has been taking training for her diction. The actress stated that he proceeded to interrupt her and tell her that all she needs to do is focus on looking good. She added, “He was like, 'Listen, just focus on looking good. And you'll be fine.' The 38-year-old actress went to recall another experience, where another actor asked her to get a nose job and change her age because women after 30 do not get many films. The last thought left her terrified. Quoted by the Hindustan Times, she said, “I was told many times to get a nose job. But I know it was crazy because I really, I came here loving my nose and not really ever thinking about doing anything ever to it. And so quite a few people earlier on actually told me that it you should consider getting that done. The Welcome To The Jungle actress added, “When I first came here, I was terrified because this one actor had told me you're turning 30 – I was turning 30 that year – and I was telling him about my birthday next month, I'm turning 30, that's so crazy. And I'm so nervous, or you know, I'm scared. And he was like, ‘Oh my god change the age on your passport.’ What? He was like, 'Well, you know what, women don't get films after the age of 30.' So that was really disappointing to hear, but women are getting films at every age in their careers right now. And I think that's an amazing thing.”
On the work front, Jacqueliene Fernandez will be next seen in the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle. The movie stars actors like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Johnny Lever, Paresh Rawal, Lara Dutta, Rajpal Yadav, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and Disha Patani among many others. She will also be seen in Fateh alongside Sonu Sood.
