Last month we had told you that Ram Gopal Varma is making a three-part film on the life of gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin (Ram Gopal Varma Confirms Film On Gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin, August 23). And now, we have learnt that the filmmaker is getting threats from the gangster’s group. He wrote on Twitter: “Am getting threatening calls from Nayeem's group...but they need to understand that I am Nayeemon ka Nayeem (sic).”
The director went on to reveal that he met one of Nayeem’s cell mates in Mumbai jail. Revealing the details, he said, “Right now am in Mumbai with jail cell mate of Nayeem. I finished meeting 5 police people of Nayeem. Met 2 naxalites who worked with him for 3 yrs. (sic)” Check out his tweets.
RGV has previously confessed that a single feature film isn’t enough to justify Nayeemuddin’s life.
Mohammed Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem from Telangana India, was a former Naxalite wanted in over 100 criminal cases including the sensational killing of IPS officer KS Vyas. He was gunned down in Operation Nayeem in Shadnagar (Mahabubnagar district) in the outskirts of Hyderabad on August 8, 2016.
