Anubhav Singh Bassi opens up about alleging Ranbir Kapoor of cutting his scenes from Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar
Comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi made his much-awaited Bollywood debut with the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Currently running on the big screens, the movie has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience. Well, it was during the trailer launch of the movie, that Bassi has jokingly accused Ranbir of cutting off his scenes from the movie. In a recent interaction, he opened up about what really went down.
While talking to India TV, the renowned stand-up comedian was asked to comment on him alleging that Ranbir had asked Luv Ranjan to cut his scenes from the movie. In response, Anubhav revealed that it was just a joke as the director hadn’t added much of his scenes in the trailer. He went on to explain how they had decided to do so just before the trailer launch to create a fun environment.
He said, “Woh Luv sir ne trailer mein mujhe daala hi utna tha toh main bas Luv sir se aise bol raha tha ki ‘aapne jaan buch kar mere scenes kat diye.’ Hum sab saath mein baithe huye the, trailer launch ke liye, kyunki humein kuch topic dhoondhna tha jis mein hum fun create kar sake. Toh humne kaha hi issi pe kar lete hai. Toh maine Luv sir ko kaha ki aapne mera role kaat diya aur Luv sir ne kaha ki ‘maine nahi kata.’ Toh humne socha ki ek dusre pe daalte hai, apas mein, w han jaake improvise karengey.”
He went on to explain how they passed on that accusation to Ranbir, then Shraddha who in turn again passed it onto the director.
Talking about the movie, the Luv Ranjan directorial marks Ranbir Kapoor’s return to the romantic-comedy genre. Released on March 8th, the movie also stars Boney Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia as Ranbir’s parents. The film follows the journey of
