WHAT! Salman Khan Reveals His Family Uses Awards A Door Stoppers; Says, ‘Never Been Interested In These, I’ve Seen So Many Of Them At Home’
Salman Khan spoke about how receiving an award means nothing to him and recalled an incident where he was promised an award but it was given away to someone else
Bollywood actor Salman Khan is known to never minces his words during media interactions. He is known for his blunt statements when it comes to sharing anecdotes from his personal life. On Wednesday evening, the actor attended the Filmfare press conference where he spoke about arrey topics. From younger actors charging more fees to censorship on OTT platforms, he also spoke about the worth of awards from him and recalled a horrible incident.
In a video posted by the paparazzi, Salman during the press conference revealed that he has never been interested in awards as he has seen too many of them in his home. He recalled, “Sometimes, if our doors would not open, we would use them as door stoppers. And we would give them away to others if we didn’t find any place for them at home.” He went on to explain how he has always lost, whenever he was nominated so even today he is not interested in awards. What he is interested in are the rewards he gets from his fans and the Hindi film audience. Recalling the horrible experience he had to go through during one of Filmfare’s award functions, the 57-year-old shared that it was right after Maine Pyar Kiya that he was to be given an award. The event was attended by his entire family. He added, “The nominations were announced, I stood up, and then I heard ‘and the award goes to Jackie Shroff’. My dad got upset. I was to perform that night for the first time on stage. He went on to share that the person backstage offered to pay him for his performance, the actor took 5 times more than what was initially quoted to him. Salman recalled that the person asked him not to tell anyone about the entire ordeal to which he replied that “he was talking to the wrong person.” He went on to reveal that he told Juhi Chawla and Akshay Kumar what had happened, showed them his cheque and asked them to get a raise as well.
On the work front, Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The teaser and the songs of the movie are receiving love from the audience. The movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill and many more in pivotal roles. He also has Tiger 3, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in his pipeline.
