What! Shilpa Shetty’s Mother Called Her 'Nikammi' And 'Absolutely Useless' On Seeing Her Prelims Results, Here's The Reason
Shilpa Shetty recently recalled that her mom used to tag her 'nikammi' and 'absolutely useless' on seeing her exam results.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra will next be seen with Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia in Nikamma. She will be portraying the character of superhero Agni, who changes the life of Nikamma (lazy) Siddharth, essayed by Abhimanyu Dassani turning him responsible person. While promoting her film in an interview with ETimes, she was asked if she has ever been called ‘Nikammi’ by any of her parents, to which she replied that, her mother Sunanda Shetty angrily called her 'absolutely worthless' and 'nikammi’ on seeing her prelim results as she had scored low.
Shilpa said, “It happened to me when my mom saw my prelims report just before my SSC examination. I had scored some 48 percent, which was disgraceful. I was a volleyball player. I was more into extracurricular activities and I was selected for the Bombay zone as a volleyball player. But, when my mom saw my result she bawled for the first time. She said you're going to be absolutely useless, worthless, and nikammi.”
She also shared her aim of becoming the Volleyball coach and her mom’s reaction on that. The actress revealed, “My aim in life at that time was to become a volleyball coach so I felt my life was set. But later, when I realised my mom was upset with my scores and me being a nikammi, I studied well for 10 days and scored a decent percentage.”
She also added that Sabbir Khan directed Nikamma releasing on June 17 was going to be her comeback film and not Hungama 2. We wish the entire cast of Nikamma good luck.
