Arjun Kapoor’s film Half Girlfriend is one of the most-loved films of the actor. Co-starring Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, the film won a lot of hearts and also did well at the box-office. Although Arjun and Shraddha’s performance in the film was loved, did you know the actor was rumoured to be spending the producer’s money on drinking? About a few years back, it was reported that Kapoor was spending the money on Alcohol and handling bills to producers. Finally, in an interview, he broke his silence on the alcohol controversy and called it shameful.
According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, during an event held in Mumbai, when Arjun Kapoor stepped out with uncle Anil Kapoor for a photoshoot, the actor shared that he does not like to react to ridiculous rumours, but mentioned he will address the alcohol controversy. Adding on further, explaining everything, Arjun went on to share that when the outdoor shoot was going on, his grandmother was unwell and later passed away. Explaining himself further, the Panipat actor said, “So if during that phase, I was ‘consuming alcohol and partying’ worth Rs 1 lakh, then there must seriously be something wrong with me and I shouldn’t get job after this film.”
Later on, Arjun Kapoor mentioned that he was travelling back and forth everyday from Bombay to Delhi and vice versa, and shared that he would shoot in Delhi and fly back home and continue shooting again. Arjun then mentioned that as it was his birthday in the same month, he did not want to celebrate, but shared that his team threw him a party where he cut a cake. He added that the team partied till 1 AM in the morning, but everyone was present on sets for the 7 AM shoot. The actor then went on to address the media about the allegations on him and mentioned that someone is trying to mislead people and prove him unprofessional. Arjun then requested everyone to not pay heed to such rumours and went on to say, “I want you guys to be responsible, it is important. It is shameful the way it is being written about and nobody is reacting to it.”
Meanwhile, apart from talking about how it was all a plot to tarnish his image, Arjun Kapoor also explained to the media that if he was unprofessional, he wouldn’t finish the shoot as his grandmother passed away. He then concluded questioning the media as his father is known as one of the amazing and serious producers in the country, would he ever not understand what it takes to put a producer in jeopardy by giving him Rs 1.5 lakh worth bill. Finally, Arjun Kapoor stated it was all shameful and mentioned that someone from the media had falsely accused him.
