When Jaya Bachchan MOCKED Shah Rukh Khan By Calling His Film Happy New Year ‘Nonsensical’; Actor Hit Back Saying Not More Than ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’

Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan is known to speak her mind and while doing so, she sometimes makes controversial and insensitive remarks toward celebs. As we speak of this, we remembered how once Jaya called Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’ the most nonsensical movie and mentioned she watched it only because of her son Abhishek Bachchan. Speaking at Mumbai Literature Festival during its session ‘The failure of literature in informing current cinema, Jaya said she told the producers and the main actors about her review of the film.
Interestingly, SRK gave it back in a witty way. The Sholay actress was quoted saying, “I told him he’s a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that. I can’t be part of what is being done in films these days and hence I don’t do films anymore. I couldn’t do it. But he did it so freely; I was impressed. Jaya went on to reveal that even the Dilwale actor gave her a witty reply as he stated his film was not more nonsensical than Amar Akbar Anthony. “He was so quick… amazing man. He said, ‘Jaya aunty, not more nonsensical then Amar Akbar Anthony’. I said it could be entertaining. Amar Akbar Anthony is a film I love watching… if you want to laugh, you don’t take back home anything you watched in theatre,” Jaya added.
As per reports, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, and Aishwarya Rai had apologized to Shah Rukh because of Jaya’s comment but he did not forgive them. However, SRK back then rubbished all such reports and tweeted, “Have not read a more crappy, made up piece of journalism lately.”
Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan lately has been making headlines for getting angry and shouting at paparazzi for clicking her photos on different occasions.
