Pavitra Rishta fame Ankita Lokhande got her big break in the Bollywood Industry with Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. The TV actress who essayed the role of Jhalkari Bai in the film gained a lot of appreciation for her character. From her friends, colleagues, critics to even netizens were showering Ankita for her powerful role as Jhalkari Bai. But she got a fan in Kangana as well who was all praise for the actress. Well, we recently came across a throwback video of Kangana and Ankita from 2019 where the director and the protagonist of the film was seen praising her co-star.
In the throwback video, Ankita is seen talking about the big break that she has got with Ranaut. She also talked about her experience working on the big screens and thanked her for the same. Later, we see Kangana chipping in and recalling the time how Lokhande faced challenges while shooting. Kangana said, “But personally, I feel the kind of circumstances Ankita has worked, the kind of situation she has worked, she deserves much bigger and better debut, that's my feeling as a director, humne jo gaana shoot kiya tha, Ankita ne wo half night me kiya, jabki wo gaana ideally 12 din tak shoot hona chahiye tha because that's how a regular song of that nature is shot for 10-12 days.”
She further quipped, “Ankita did it in some time due to budget constraint, because of the situation we were in, she did not have the time to take a second take, she did not even have the time to curl her hair. Basically, she deserves to be lit more beautifully and she deserves a better debut but anyway, there's a long way to go.”
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was lauded by many and was one of the biggest box-office hits in 2019. The film even crossed the 100 crore mark at the domestic markets.
