When Kareena Kapoor Khan Shared Her Thoughts On Nepotism Debate: 'The Audience Has Made Us, Aap Ja Re Ho Na Film Dekhne? Mat Jao'
During Kangana Ranaut's appearance on Koffee with Karan in the past, Kangana had called KJo the 'flagbearer of nepotism'. Since then, there has been an ongoing debate about the same. Many actors including Farhan Akhtar and Kareena Kapoor had shared their thoughts on it. The nepotism debate was reignited after Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Around the same time, Kareena Kapoor Khan had said that instead of looking at everyone from a privileged background in a negative light, the 'bigger picture' needs to be looked at.

In an interview with Barkha Dutt, Bebo had said, "21 years of working would not have happened with just nepotism. It is not possible. I can take a long list out of superstars' children for whom it's not been able to happen that way." She added that the idea is to keep working hard and move ahead.  Bebo further added that she does not look at her journey as having got opportunities just because of her lineage. "There is a struggle but it probably is not as interesting as somebody who comes in a train with just Rs 10 in his pocket. Yeah, it's not been that and I can't be apologetic about it."

She went on to add that it's the audience who decides who becomes a star. "The audience has made us, nobody else has made us. The same people pointing fingers, they are only making these nepotistic stars. Aap jaa re ho na film dekhne? Mat jao. Nobody has forced you. So I don't understand it. I find this whole discussion is completely weird." Bebo further added that those coming from filmy families work as hard as outsiders.

On the work front, Bebo will be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha. It also stars Aamir Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. She also recently announced her OTT debut with director Sujoy Ghosh.
