Janhvi Kapoor turns 25 today, 6th March and she is celebrating her birthday with her family and close friends. The actress has also been receiving sweet shout-outs from her industry friends, fans, and cousins on social media. As Janhvi rings in her 25th birthday today, we bring you a throwback video from the event when Sridevi had trolled her daughter Janhvi for not knowing how to speak in Hindi. In fact, the late actress, back then, had hilariously imitated Janhvi’s broken Hindi in front of media.
Back in 2012, 15-year-old Janhvi attended the launch of one of People magazine's issues with her mother Sridevi, younger sister, Khushi and father Boney Kapoor. The magazine featured Sridevi on the cover with her daughters. Speaking to media persons at the launch event, Janhvi was asked to speak a few words in Hindi but since did not have much experience, she was lost for words. She fumbled and said, “Hindi mein? I don't… Ji mujhe abhi pata nahi main abhi school mein padhai karaai hu (I don't really know. I am currently a school student and)…”
Then, Sridevi, who was sitting next to her, took the mic from her hand and played around. She trolled her and imitated her daughter's broken Hindi, leaving media and Janhvi bursting into laughter. The late legendary actress also asked the paparazzi to not ask Janhvi to speak in Hindi as she will be 'bullied for not being able to speak in Hindi.'
Janhvi Kapoor is very close to her mother Sridevi, who died on February 24, 2018, in Dubai. She was found unconscious in her bathtub by her husband Boney Kapoor. The death certificate said that her death was caused due to "accidental drowning." Janhvi is still struggling to come to terms with her mother’s tragic demise.
