On a comedy show, when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had appeared to promote her film Sarbjit, she was asked this question. Who is the first one to say sorry among the two and the lady could not stop laughing. This made the host believe that it is Abhishek who says sorry first but, Aishwarya soon clarified that it is her who apologises and ends the topic. "No. I am the one who apologises first and finishes the topic," she said.

Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot in the year 2007 and the Miss World 1994 delivered baby Aaradhya in the year 2011. During India Today Conclave, Abhishek had spoken about their love story and said, "I first worked with Aishwarya in my initial films. We first worked together on Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. We were friends since then. We were dear friends. We were simultaneously doing another film, Kuch Na Kaho.
