Why Has Bajirao Mastani Advance Booking In Multiplexes Not Opened?
When it comes to big-ticket releases, advance bookings open early in Bollywood. The advance booking of Rohit Shetty's Dilwale which releases on Friday opened on Sunday. So why is the public being told in multiplexes that they are not yet selling tickets of Bajirao Mastani which releases on the same day?

Wondering what the reason behind Bajirao's producers Eros and SLB's stance is? Well, it lies in the story we told you just a short while ago (THE BIG FIGHT: Multiplexes Prefer Dilwale, Single Screens Choose Bajirao, December 15).

After Dilwale's distributor PVR managed to convince multiplexes to allot 60 per cent of their shows to Dilwale, Bhansali and Eros (Bajirao Mastani's distributor) have put their foot down and are in a fight mode with the multiplex owners.

We hear, Bhansali, who already has majority of single-screens (buzz is, ninety per cent) on his side (they are legally bound) wants at least an equal share in the multiplex pie. In short, he wants a 50-50 deal and has decided not to settle for anything less.

The filmmaker is so miffed that he has decided not to open advance bookings till he gets what he wants. If multiplexes don't relent by Wednesday morning, obviously he'll have to settle with the allocated 40 per cent.

This fight is getting uglier.
