Ekta Kapoor's Diwali bash is the highlight of the year for the members of the television industry. The who's who of showbiz is in attendance and Ekta presides over the card tables where lakhs are won and lost in minutes.
As usual, the guest list this year too included the biggest names in television, many of whom count Ekta Kapoor as their mentor.

There was Divyanka Tripathi, former TV queen and now Union Minister Smriti Irani and Sunny Leone among others. But Ekta Kapoor's current fave, Mouni Roy was missing from the celebrations.
SpotboyE.com found out the reason for Mouni's absence and it turns out that it was Ekta's show which kept her away!
Mouni Roy is the leading lady of Ekta's superhit show Naagin 2 which is top of the charts rights now. Naturally, Ekta has heavily invested in the series and makes a lot of additions and amends to make sure that the final product is up to mark.
So Mouni spent her time shooting on set while the rest of the industry partied up at Ekta's bungalow.
Mouni was even heard cribbing about this to a crew member. Says a source, "Mouni too wanted to dress up and have a good time and Ekta's diwali bash is the event of the year for TV people. But she had no choice but to finish the shoot. You know how TV works, cut to cut."
Someone should tell Mouni that playing the lead in the No.1 TV show is not a easy task. And it definitely does not help to complain about the TV czarina who is chiefly responsible for her moment under the sun.
