Will Saif Ali Khan Play A Pakistani Officer In Meghna Gulzar's 1971 War Film?
Meghna Gulzar has announced that her next will be a war film based on Harinder Sikka's book Calling Sehmat, which revolves around a Kashmiri girl married to a Pakistani army officer. The film will be produced by Junglee Pictures.

Calling Sehmat is a thrilling saga of a spy who, in the service of our nation, gave all of herself and that of her family so that we may live in peace. It is a story of a Kashmiri woman who married a Pakistani Army Officer so as to provide the Indian Intelligence with invaluable information during the Indo-Pak War of 1971. Sehmat devised unique ways in her quest to get closer to the top brass in Pakistan. She almost single-handedly torpedoed Pakistan's war plans through courage and determination and was responsible for saving lives of many Indian soldiers.

But what you don't know is that Meghna wants Saif Ali Khan to play the Pakistani officer in the film.

SpotboyE.com has it that Meghna thinks that Saif is the perfect fit for the character and his body language suits the essence of her film's hero.

Meghna has a stellar track record of critically acclaimed films. Her last film Talvar, based on the The Noida double murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade, won high critical acclaim.

Saif, who is set to become a father for the third time, is famously selective about his projects.

Meghna chose not to respond to our query if Saif is indeed No.1 on her wishlist for her next, but a close friend of the Nawab of Pataudi says, "Saif hasn't got the offer yet, but he is always up for a great role."

Meghna plans to put this film on floors, sometime next year.
