The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 opening ceremony held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed a dazzling event with a star-studded lineup. Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar, enthralled the audience with his dynamic performance during the grand ceremony. King Khan commenced his act with an impactful speech focused on "Naari-Shakti."

In his words, "Welcome to the Women's Premiere League 2024. Hamara desh sadiyon se hi naari Shakti par depend karta hai, chahe wo bharat maa ho, dharti maa ho, Shakti maa ho, devi maa ho ya humare gharon mein baithi hui humari pyari pyari maa ho. Women have been running companies as CEOs, they have been running households as mothers and nurturing children. Women have always ruled." SRK commended women for "challenging all stereotypes" and extended his best wishes to the WPL teams for the upcoming matches.

"In a nation built on the foundation of Women Empowerment, no force can restrain women. They are poised to dismantle barriers and defy stereotypes in every aspect of life, including sports. The WPL initiative by BCCI, led by Mr. Jay Shah, reflects this sentiment. The upcoming 30 days transcend beyond just celebrating women and cricket; it symbolizes the empowerment of women as they ascend to establish their own realm, emerging as Queens in their Queendom," he expressed.




Transitioning into 'Pathaan' style, he declared, "Invite Pathaan to the party, and he will undoubtedly grace it with his hospitality." The Bollywood icon then showcased his charisma, dancing to the tunes of 'Jhomme Jo Pathaan' and 'Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya'. In addition to the Dunki star's performance, artists such as Kartik Aaryan, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, and Sidharth Malhotra showcased their talents during the inaugural event.




The competition is scheduled to run until March 17, with matches set to occur in Bengaluru and Delhi. The ultimate showdown is slated for March 17 in New Delhi, with the eliminator match scheduled for March 15.
