Yami Gautam Summoned By ED In Alleged Money Laundering Case; Actress To Record Her Statement Next Week
As per the latest reports, actress Yami Gautam has been summoned by ED for questioning in an alleged case of violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Yami Gautam, on Friday, was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in an alleged case of violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). As per a report in Hindustan Times, the agency has asked the actress to appear before them next week to record her statement. The officials have reportedly stated that Yami received 1.5 crore in her private bank account, which she didn’t disclose.
She has been asked to join the probe on July 7. To note, this is the second time that the Vicky Donor actress has been summoned by the federal agency. The first summons was issued to her last year, but she could not visit the ED office owing to restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic. It is said that Yami has been allegedly involved in FEMA related violations, which also include foreign transactions through her bank account. ANI tweeted, “Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons actor Yami Gautam, asking her to appear before them next week to record her statement in connection with alleged irregularities under FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act)”
Meanwhile, on the work front, the Kaabil actress was last seen in Puneet Khanna's Ginny Weds Sunny alongside Vikrant Massey. She will next be seen in the upcoming horror-comedy Bhoot Police, helmed by Pawan Kripalani. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Javed Jaffrey in the lead roles.
Talking about her personal front, Yami Gautam recently made headlines for getting hitched to filmmaker Aditya Dhar in an intimate wedding ceremony.
