Zareen Khan, who made her Bollywood debut with the 2010 film Veer opposite Salman Khan, was recently in the news for being targeted by online trolls and for being body shamed for a picture revealing the stretch marks on her stomach as she posed for a picture in a crop top. Zareen Khan hit back at the trolls and gave them a befitting reply. She wrote a brief not on her Instagram stories thereby shutting down all the negative comments. While there were some who body-shamed her, there were many others who came out in support of the actress- including Anushka Sharma! Now, Zareen Khan has addressed the issue once again and has also acknowledged Anushka Sharma taking a stand for her.

The picture that made her the target of body shaming was taken while she posed at Lake Pichola in Rajasthan and donned a white crop top that revealed her stretch marks. Now, in a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, Zareen Khan said that there are plenty of apps and software to hide flaws and she could have used them, but she doesn’t believe in hiding her imperfections. She also mentioned she is proud of what she has achieved, having lost 50 kg of weight and she did that not for being picture- perfect but for herself. She was also pleased that before she could reply to the trolls, her fans stood by her and supported her. She also applauded Anushka Sharma for taking a stand and supporting her even though the two aren’t really friends and have only briefly met at social gatherings. She says, “It takes a strong woman to recognize another. I’ve come a long way in the journey, but I would still require photoshopping. But I like to be the real me on social media.”

Zareen Khan believes that exercise should be a way of life, and not a punishment. Her fitness regimen includes weight training, cardio, strength training and when her days are hectic, its either yoga or pilates. The actress earned popularity with the famous song Character Dheela Hai in Ready and her role in Housefull 2.   She will next be seen in a 2019 release Punjabi language film Daaka.
