Zareen Khan's Disgusting Casting Couch Experience, Reveals A Filmmaker Wanted To 'Rehearse A Kissing Scene' With Her
During a recent interview, Zareen Khan opened up about experiencing the proverbial casting couch. She revealed that once a director wanted to rehearse a kissing scene with her, while another person from the Industry said that he wanted to be more than friends with her
It’s been since we are hearing about different casting couch stories. Every now and then Industry members are coming out and are opening up about the incidents they have faced in the industry during their struggling days. Ever since Tanushree Dutta started the #MeToo wave, it gave women strength to come out and speak what they have been through. Many actors, directors, producers were called out in the wake of Me Too movement.
During a very recent interview, Zareen Khan has opened up about casting couch. A while back, the actress was in news for proudly flaunting her stretch marks after losing weight. Speaking to Pinkvilla, when Zareen was asked about casting couch, she went on to narrate a few stories. She said, “For me, my self-respect is of utmost importance. I will not do anything at the cost of my self-respect and dignity. She further said, “I don’t want to be naming people. In the pretext of trying to rehearse a scene, a person says, “you have to let go off your inhibitions”. At that time I was very new to the industry so I said, “Ok!” Then the person said, “We will do a kissing scene” and I was like, “What? No. I am not doing any kissing scene as a rehearsal.”
Further narrating another incident, she told the reporter, “The much later, when I was not even that new to the industry and I knew how the industry works, then this person is telling me, “Can we be more than friends and then I will specifically look into the project you are getting. I’ll make you lead somewhere.” I said “No, I don’t work like that. If I am going to get projects then I will get projects on my credibility even if I am an actor or not an actor. If I am doing you favours, what is the guarantee that I will get work and this you will be telling to 10 more other girls!”
