Bollywood is replete with fair-weather friends. Popularity results in who’s who of the industry queuing up outside your door, while bad times often render you lonely. This story is a classic example.
This music composer duo has given Bollywood a number of unforgettable hits. However, with time, newer composers took over and quantity of work dried out. As a result, currently, they do not have much to look forward to.
Some time ago, things began looking up for the two when they struck a deal with a top producer, who is currently working on the sequel of a hit film.
This producer was scouting for music directors for his upcoming film. Since the composer duo didn’t have projects in hand, they decided to approach this producer. The filmmaker agreed to work with them and sent situations for the songs.
The delighted composers sent scratches of the tracks and, we hear, the producer was impressed and got them on-board. However, their happiness was dampened when they learnt that the producer will not pay them for the project.
Reason? The filmmaker is of the opinion that he is doing the composer duo a favour by giving them a chance to compose music for a much-awaited film. In fact, the producer also promised more work to them if they agreed to work without payment.
He added that if the two composers deliver hits in this film, they will easily be able to earn money through concerts.
With fewer projects in hand, the two agreed to be part of the film, albeit with a gulp.
