For the people who are unaware of this special day, the festival, Karwa Chauth is mainly celebrated amongst the married and unmarried women in North India. But since we have been in the progressive society now, even men like a doting husband have started fasting for their better halves. In this festival, women fast for their husband which is considered to be a nirjala fast means no food and water so that they have a longer and a safer life ahead. This festival is also seen amongst non-married ladies in order to have a better life partner. After fasting for the entire day, women break their fast after seeing and offering prayers to the moon.
