Tis the season to be jolly but this year left a slew of broken hearts in its wake. Forget Trump, Bollywood lovers were more shaken by the news of divorces and break-ups which kept piling up. Many long marriages and steady relationships ended this year and while some have moved on, other Bollywood stars are still reeling from their splits. Here are the break-ups which grabbed headlines this year:
Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif

The year begun with the news that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, who had been living together in a posh Bandra pad, had called it quits. After months of rumours that they had broken up, the couple looked closer than ever when they attended a bunch of holiday parties together. But by the end of January 2016, the headlines announced their break-up, this time for good.
Aditya Roy Kapur-Shraddha Kapoor

This couple have always been tight-lipped about their relation even though actions speak louder than words and Aditya and Shraddha were often spotted looking very ‘couply’ together. Just like there was no announcement of the romance, there was no word about when they parted ways too. But the two are obviously friendly exes and after Aashiqui 2, where love blossomed, they will be seen together again in Dharma Productions’ next OK Jaanu.
Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Bhabani

While people were still trying to digest the news of Ranbir and Katrina's break-up, soon after that came another shocker. When Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna decided to end their 16-year-old marriage, it took most people by surprise.
Pulkit Samrat-Shweta Rohira

Another marriage which ended on a bad note was Pulkit Samrat and Shweta Rohira. Pulkit had married Salman Khan's Rakhi sister Shweta in 2015 and just a year later, the union seemed to have hit rock bottom. Things changed and the couple announced their separation. Pulkit’s Sanam Re co-star Yami Gautam, was reportedly the villain, after she grew up, close and personal with Pulkit.
Arbaaz Khan-Malaika Arora Khan

Well, this couple's relationship status had us confused for a long time. But in 2016, they finally filed for divorce after 17 years of marriage. They did not make an official announcement, but when they were spotted at Bandra's family court in November, the world knew that it was all over. And it looks like both of them have already moved on.

Singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya married Komal at the age of 22 and the two decade long marriage ended when he filed for a legal separation in November.Himesh and his wife Komal were also spotted at the Bandra family court. This came after reports that the couple has been staying in separate houses for the past few months. Buzz is, Himesh's proximity to TV actress Sonia Kapoor was the reason behind the singer's seeking a divorce from Komal.
