Actress Jodie Turner-Smith as per reports in Variety was the victim of theft. The actress was at Cannes Film Festival 2021 when this unpleasant and unexpected incident left her disappointed. Reports state thieves entering into her hotel room on July 9, 2021, and stole her precious jewellery worth tens of thousands of Euros, this also included her mother’s wedding ring. Thieves broke into her room on Friday when the actress was out for breakfast. After the theft, she moved from Marriott hotel on the Croisette to Majestic hotel.
Post the news broke, the actress tweeted that she has spent 2.5 hours in the police station on the final day of the prestigious film festival. Her Tweet read, “didn’t think I would be spending 2.5 hours in the police station on my final day in Cannes, but here we are…” The actress is accompanied by her one-year-old daughter. She was targeted after she was walked the red carpet in sparkling jewels by high-end fashion brand, Gucci. The actress was reported to sport gold and diamond jewellery from Gucci.
It was also said, while the brand immediately took back the jewellery pieces wore by the actress, seems like thieves assumed it to be with the actress and hence, broke into her room. Jodie Turner-Smith who marked her debut at Cannes this year, wore jewellery by Gucci for the premiere of the movie, After Yang on Thursday.
