As India's First Consignment Of Hydroxychloroquine Reaches US, Tom Hanks' Wife Rita Wilson Lists 'Extreme Side Effects' Of A Similar Drug
Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson warned that she experienced ‘extreme side effects’ after taking chloroquine, and said that she felt completely nauseous, had vertigo and her muscles had become weak
Hollywood star Tom Hanks and Rita Williams were among the first few celebrities to reveal that they had tested positive for Coronavirus. It has now been over a month, and Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are now doing fine, as revealed by Tom while hosting Saturday Night Live, a few days ago. Now, on Tuesday’s episode of CBS This Morning, Rita Wilson opened up about her experience, and warned that she experienced ‘extreme side effects’ after taking chloroquine. This drug and a similar one, hydroxychloroquine have been touted by President Trump as Coronavirus treatment. In fact, a consignment of hydroxychloroquine reached the US on Saturday from India.
Chloroquine and similar, newer drug hydroxychloroquine are anti-malaria drugs. The Hollywood Reporter quoted Rita Wilson warning that she experiences ‘extreme side effects’ after taking chloroquine. She felt ‘completely nauseous’, had vertigo and her muscles had become weak. She said, “I think people have to be very considerate about that drug. We don't really know if it's helpful in this case." Apart from this, Rita Wilson also opened up about how she felt when she came down with Coronavirus. She revealed she was extremely tired, achy, felt uncomfortable and did not want to be touched.
She also shared that Tom Hanks didn’t have such severe symptoms, and he didn’t experience a high fever or lose his sense of taste and smell after contracting Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, as Tom Hanks hosted Saturday Night Live, he also touched about his Coronavirus diagnosis. He said, “But why me as host?
