Bad Boys - Ride Or Die MOVIE Review: Will Smith- Martin Lawrence's Bromance Shines In This Hilariously Entertaining Action Comedy!
Bad Boys Ride Or Die marks the return of Miami's most fun and electrifying cop-duo of Will Smith as Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence as Marcus Burnett on a mission in this one last Bad Boys movie from the franchise as they bring back some good old memories and nostalgia along with their impeccable bromance and chemistry that lights up the screen. Director Michael Bay keeps the plot simple, adding on some elements from the past Bad Boys movies to make it relevant. The storyline follows Mike beginning his newly married life with Christine (Melanie Liburd), while Marcus faces a shocking heart- attack on their wedding day. He comes out of this near-death experience which takes him to a dream sequence featuring Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano) who warns him about an upcoming threat.

Mike's jailed son Armando (Jacob Scipio) along with Martin and him are framed by conspirators that turns out to be a cunning cartel gang Howard has been following up since years. The antagonists sends an entire Miami's underworld behind them with a bounty on their head leading to the rat and mouse chase. Not much diving deeper into the plot and storyline I would like to talk about the movie's pros and cons quickly. Yes, quite a lot of pros to begin with and the first and foremost is Smith and Lawrence's unmatched brotherly chemistry that is a treat for the franchise fans. Martin Lawrence got some crazy punches and one-liners that would make you laugh out loud and this is the best part about the action flick, yes it won't even bore you a bit.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence deliver memorable performances and you will love their banter, and conversations as the two keep on taking potshots at each other. Overall, the film is enhanced with some really good peppy music as well but one con to talk about is that some of the action sequences are overdone and could have been avoided. Noises and explosions, gunshots and running go a bit over the board at places but it isn't that draggy that will undermine this entertaining action comedy. I loved the cinematography by Robrecht Heyvaert who films some impressive long shots with finesse.

I liked how Michael Bay has kept a good blend of action and comedy in the right balance focusing more on the boy's chemistry rather than having a complex plot that might have ruined the fun completely. Chris Bremner and Will Beall's writing gets full marks for adding on the quirks and comedy so smoothly into the narrative. Will Smith gets slapped by Lawrence several times in the climax scenes reminding the audience of the Chris Rock Oscar slap controversy and how subtly could the writers let that sink in. Overall, as a moviegoer, you would love every bit of Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, surely for the entertainment value it holds. This would turn out to be a great comeback movie for Hollywood's hot-headed boys. I would say, go for it!
