Did Idris Elba Contract COVID-19 From Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s Wife? Actor Hints At It
Coronavirus has taken the world by storm and the number of positive tested cases is only increasing with each passing day. After Tom Hanks, and his wife, came the news of Idris Elba being diagnosed with COVID-19, proving that absolutely no one is immune from the pandemic. It was on Monday night that Idris Elba announced on Twitter, “This morning I tested positive Covid-19. I feel okay, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus.” Now, he also hinted in his live video, that he may have contracted COVID-19 from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie Trudeau.

Sophie Trudeau was diagnosed with COVID-19 last week and it was announced that both, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and Sophie Trudeau would remain in quarantine for 14 days. Now, in a video shared by Elba on Tuesday night, he revealed that he was exposed to the disease from March 4, the same day he met Trudeau's wife Sophie at a We Day UK charity event, in Wembley. He said, “It's hard to say when I got the disease or when I contracted COVID-19, it's hard to say when. I will say that I know I've been exposed to it from March 4. That's when the person that came up positive, that was the time I got in contact with that person.”

Idris Elba also mentioned in his live video, “So, I’m here because of my production, and the doctor and medic team for the production were contacted because someone that I was in contact with, who is also in the public eye, tested positive. So, it became an issue. Therefore they got me a test immediately.”

Idris Elba and Sophie Trudeau also posed together for pictures along with others, at the event on March 4.
