Diwali is one of the most highly anticipated festivals in India, and people celebrate it with great enthusiasm. People throw lavish parties and celebrate by lighting diyas, bursting crackers, and wearing new traditional outfits on the special occasion. While fans eagerly wait for celebs to give a glimpse of how they celebrated Diwali, it was two years ago, that Chris Hemsworth aka Thor surprised his fans as he got into the festive mode and celebrated the festival of lights along with Randeep Hooda.

It was in 2018 that Chris Hemsworth was in India shooting for the film Extraction with Randeep Hooda and his team. On Diwali, Chris channeled his desi avatar, and wished his fans in the most desi way! As he celebrated the festival, Chris donned a blue kurta pyjama on the occasion and also sported a red teeka on his forehead. A video of him, his co-star Randeep Hooda and Extraction director Sam Hargrave had gone viral on social media.

Chris Hemsworth wished his fans in India a Happy Diwali, and he was seen saying, “Happy Deepavali to everybody. We are here in India shooting and having a wonderful day. Namaste!” Take a look at the video below:


Extraction premiered on April 24, 2020, on Netflix. Apart from Chris Hemsworth, the film also stars David Harbour, Golshifteh Farahani, Priyanshu Painyulli, Randeep Hooda, Rudraksh Jaiswal, and Pankaj Tripathi. It was produced by Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin.
