Tom Hanks is gearing up for his upcoming film Greyhound and the actor seem super excited for it as well. After putting up a brave fight against COVID-19, fully recovered, Tom Hanks is back to what he loves doing the most, which is, talking about films. As the Hanks’ film Greyhound is all set for a digital release soon, during a virtual press conference, the actor opened up about the digital release of the movie and how it’s not bad but just different.

During a virtual press conference, Tom Hanks mentioned that Apple TV+ has been a saviour in the time of crisis. Tom Hanks went on to talk about the experience the audience will have watching Greyhound on a small screen at home rather than in a movie theatre. He said, “It’s going to look different on your Apple TVs. It’s going to have a different physical quality to the brightness and to the appearance of the mood. It’s going to have a different sound than it would have if you were hearing it in a cinema. You can accept that because that’s the reality of what your eyeball is seeing and what your brain takes.” Moving on, Tom Hanks explained how the heartbreak is when 800 people don’t get to go into a theatre as strangers, watch Greyhound, come out 88 minutes later with something in common and mentioned how still there is no substitute 

Tom Hanks spoke about the experience the audience is going to have while watching a film at home. He mentioned how we all love going to the movies and talking about it. But then explained the new reality of how the people want to be entertained and shared how it’s not bad but just different.  He said, “A new reality is that everybody on planet Earth has options now as to how they pay to be entertained by the stories of their choice. And that’s where we are now. So it’s not bad, it’s just different.” Tom Hanks finally concluded saying, “It is disappointing because this movie looks fantastic on a huge screen, mixed the way it is, and posted the way we had it. But it’s still going to be a 100% physiological experience.”


Meanwhile, Tom Hanks film Greyhound is a war drama based across the Atlantic during World War II. Directed by Aaron Schneider, the screenplay of the film is written by Tom Hanks.
