Amy Schumer is a renowned stand-up comedian and Hollywood actress. She got married to chef Chris Fischer in the year 2018 and, within a year, the couple was blessed with a baby boy whom they named Gene Attell Fischer. Not many know, they named their son Gene Attell Fischer for a specific reason. The middle name of the child was a tribute to their friend comedian Dave Attell. But they did not realise the fact it sounds more like ‘genital’ while the name spelt ‘Gene Attell’
Amy disclosed on her latest podcast episode of ‘3 Girls, 1 Keith’ that they have changed their 11-month-old son’s name to ‘Gene David Fischer’. She stated "Do you guys know that Gene, our baby's name, is officially changed? It's now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realised that we, by accident, named our son 'genital'.”
While Claudia O-Doherty was a special guest on the podcast show of Amy Schumer. She said she realises the name Snafu. “My mom pointed that out to me, actually.” She said, “My mum was like, 'Amy's called her son genital.” Schumer even gave a clarification about her son’s middle name. Schumer told Claudia and Rachel Feinstein (who is the host of the podcast) that David is Attell’s first name and her father’s middle name. This surely gives a family connection and a reason to celebrate for the new name.
But now post changing their son’s name they seemed relaxed and are stress-free as they will not have to cater to trolls and laughs about their son and his earlier name. Amy and Chris are spending quality time with their son and seen posting some amazing family pictures on their social media accounts.
