After much-anticipation, yesterday, senator Kamala Harris was elected as the new Vice-President of the United States of America in the US Elections, 2020. With Harris’ victory, she became the first female, first Black, first Indian-American and first Asian vice president-elect of the US. Kamala Harris’ big win left many Hollywood celebrities emotional. Among a few, Jennifer Lopez and Mindy Kaling broke down in happy tears. JLo shared a video, expressing her emotions, while Mindy dropped a post sharing how happy she is.
On Twitter, Mindy Kaling shared a picture of Kamala Harris and tweeted, “Crying and holding my daughter, “look baby, she looks like us.” Sharing a picture of the new VP, the Late Night actress said that she is in tears.
She told fans how she held her daughter and cried, after Harris’ win. Many stars took to the comments to react. Several revealed that they are also very emotional as Kaling after Kamala Harris became VP. Olivia Munn, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Melissa Fumero and others showered love on Mindy with emojis and messages.
Apart from Mindy Kaling, Jennifer Lopez was also in tears. She posted a video on her Instagram and addressed the historic win. Talking about it, she said, “So happy this morning. Echoing the words of everyone saying that we are headed toward a better day, a more united country, I’m just crying tears of joy." JLo continued, “I hope that we all can come together and love each other and appreciate each other. It’s a new day.” While Jennifer spoke fighting her tears, she said, “They’re saying it’s time to heal deep wounds and come together. We are the United States of America, the greatest country on this planet.” In the post, Lopez also spoke about Kamala Harris and said that history is being made for all the little girls who got loud across the world. She said, “ History is being made today for all little girls who got loud across the world. It is an amazing, amazing day.
