Joe Russo, Of Russo Brothers, Shares Interesting Details About Priyanka Chopra's Citadel And Raj-DK’s Indian Sister-Series
Russo Brothers-helmed Citadel stars Priyanka Chopra and ‘Game of Thrones' fame Richard Madden in the lead.
International star Priyanka Chopra is busy with her next project - Citadel, a series backed by the Russo Brothers - in Spain. Apart from her, the show also stars ‘Game of Thrones' fame Richard Madden in the lead. Citadel is the flagship series that will be released first and the show's sister - regional series will be released after that. There is one in production in Italy, another one in India that will be directed by Raj and DK of The Family Man, and more.
Joe Russo of the Russo Brothers has shared a few interesting details about the upcoming Amazon Prime series, in separate interviews. In an interaction with Variety, Joe said, “It’s sort of an experiment in narrative. It has a flagship show that then has regional shows that are built around the core idea. They’re complementary narratives. It’s regional talent producing and creating each one of those offshoot shows. It’s a big experiment in community and partnership.”
In another interview with Screen Daily, he said, “They are completing development on it. The flagship show has been shooting in London. It’s almost done on its first season. Once that gets released then the series of other shows will get released.”
According to him, “the Italian show is first, and then there will be an Indian show and a Mexican show.” The ace director added that more will kick into gear after season two.
Joe, however, refused to spill any details about Citadel’s plot or details about Priyanka’s characters. “It’s under wraps. It’s a big world set against the backdrop of a thriller. Each show features complimentary narratives, set in different locations, using different characters but are all tangentially associated with one of the two major organisations that are in the show," he said.
Priyanka is currently camped in Valencia, Spain, for the shoot of Citadel. The actress has been sharing pictures of her fun time in the beautiful city.
