“Used to be bi, but now I'm just hetero” the lyrics from the recently released song, Say So from Doja Cat featuring Nicki Minaj landed the rapper in a great mess. Well, in the song, Nicki raps the line “Used to be bi, but now I'm just hetero” and somehow this enraged many people online who felt like the lyric was demeaning the LGBTQ community as the rapper did come out as bisexual 5 years ago. According to MTO News, many LGBTQ + activists criticized Nicki on Twitter. They urged everyone to stop supporting the "fraud prosecution", like Nicki, and to start calling them. However, as she blazed the Twitterverse, Nicki has yet to respond to criticism.
While sharing the audio of the song, she captioned it as, “Real nasty wit demis - all NET, yeah I’m GROSS #SaySoRemix @dojacat” As this already took the internet by storm, we picked a few comments where one Twitter user wrote, “Nicki Minaj singing "used to be bi but now I’m just hetero" is so problematic. people are gonna take that to justify saying that bisexuality is just a phase which it 100% isn’t so conclusion: fuck Nicki Minaj and her rapist of a husband.”
Another one wrote, “That Nicki verse is so gross... “I used to be bi but now I’m just hetero” yes thank you that makes bisexuals look great that makes the entire LGBT community look great thank you so much.”
On the other hand, Nicki Minaj and her then-boyfriend-now-husband Kenneth Petty got their marriage license in October 2019. For the same, Nicki Minaj had also shared a video on Instagram revealing her secret marriage where we saw two coffee mugs on a table with ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’ embossed on them, confirming their marital bond.
