Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi calls it ‘Karma’ as US President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for Coronavirus. This comes one month ahead of the US Presidential elections
The number of Coronavirus cases is on the rise globally, and several known personalities all over the world were reported to have contracted the virus. Recently, the news of US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump testing positive for COVID-19 surfaced, after which, it became a topic of discussion on social media. While some were sympathetic, many, including Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi took jibes at the US President.
Informing people about him and his wife testing positive for Coronavirus, Donald Trump tweeted, “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" He wrote that he will be under quarantine and shall start the ‘recovery process’ immediately. This news comes one month ahead of the US Presidential elections.
Now, Padma Lakshmi took to her Instagram and shared an image of Donald Trump’s tweet, along with her own reply to it. Reacting to Trump’s tweet, she wrote, “Karma,” and in her caption, she wrote, “It is what it is” - Trump.” Take a look:
Meanwhile, Melania Trump tweeted, “As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the Trumps a quick recovery, and wrote, “Wishing my friend @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS a quick recovery and good health."
