Lawrence Franks Jr. popularly known by his stage name Huey, was an American rapper from St. Louis, Missouri. The rapper who was known for his 2007 hit track ‘Pop, Lock & Drop It,’ was shot and killed in Missouri, as reported by CNN. As per reports, at the age of 32, he was shot and killed outside of a home in the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Kinloch, Missouri and soon he was taken to a local hospital with at least one gunshot wound. He was declared dead shortly after, as said by the police.
The police mentioned that the detectives believe that 10 individuals were in and around the place when the crime occurred and also urged the potential witnesses to come forward and contact them. "Detectives believe as many as ten other individuals were present in and around the crime scene during the occurrence of this incident. Investigators strongly encourage those that are potential witnesses to please contact them," read the police quote as reported by the same portal.
As soon as the news broke in the media, some of his fans started posting about him and expressed disbelief. A fan wrote, “very sad about rapper Huey. growing up in suburban Melbourne in the 80s, his music taught me that it was ok to be weird.” Another one directed the tweet to Black Lives Matter as the tweet read, “Rapper Huey dead at 32 from Gun Shot wounds in St Louis. Do Black Lives Matter care? Is suspect not. They only care when a black death can be used to further their agenda of radical Marxist revolution. How can so many young Americans be do stupid that they cannot get this?”
