The singer then suffered organ damage caused by lupus. While Selena has often been hesitant to show off her transplant scar, it was recently that she took to her social media to share a picture of her in a blue swimsuit. In the picture, the Rare singer confidently shows her kidney transplant surgery scar and spreads body positivity as she’s ‘proud of that’.

Selena mentioned in her post how she remembers it was difficult for her to show her scar at first after the surgery. She said she didn’t want it to be in pictures, so she wore things that would cover up the scar. As the singer goes on to share, Gomez revealed that now, more than ever, she feels confident in who she is and what she went through. She added that she is proud of that.
