While Selena is currently in her best place right now, the singer is being slammed by Twitterati for pictures from her recent Ad shoot collaboration with Puma.

 Selena Gomez is currently gearing up for her upcoming album releasing soon, and the singer is winning hearts with her soulful and peppy tracks. Recently, as Selena charmed her ‘Selenators’ at the AMA’s, the 25-year-old singer also collaborated with sports brand Puma for an Ad shoot. As Selena looked the best, the pictures of the singer didn’t go down well for many fans and social media users. In the picture shared on social media, Selena is spotted standing on a pile of books and got heavily trolled for disrespecting books by standing on them. While the Twitterati expressed their concerns on the picture of Selena Gomez sporting the Puma shoes standing on a pile of books, many social media users expressed their concern and mentioned that the 25-year-old singer will be ‘cursed’ for her actions. According to an IANS report, the Twitterati commented on how books are considered to be a form of Goddess Saraswati in the Indian culture, several others reacted to the pictures from the shoot. A Twitterati wrote, “Books in Hinduism are considered Goddess Saraswati and in Islam the very first verse of the Quran reads 'Among you the Most Generous is Who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not.' You are insulting our composite culture by such advertisements,” while another comment read, "One time I was asleep and I touched a book by mistake with my foot. I woke up and took the book's aashirwad coz it's Saraswati before going back to sleep again. How is she standing on books? Paap lagega."


The Twitterati also requested Selena Gomez to not disrespect books as knowledge is sacred and mentioned that we are supposed to respect it.
