Tom Holland Reveals He Helped Keep Spider-Man In MCU: ‘I Saved Spider-Man’
Tom Holland has been making the headlines ever since Spider-Man: Far From Home released on July 5, 2019, after which the deal between Marvel and Sony, which allowed for Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel films along with the Avengers heroes in the MCU had ended. However, things have changed since then as Disney and Sony once again shook hands and struck a new deal, announcing the comeback of Spider-Man to MCU and the film was slated for a July 26, 2021 release. Earlier Disney CEO Bob Iger had confirmed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! about this and revealed that tom Holland was behind the patch up.

Now, during Tom Holland’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he revealed his side of the story as to how his conversation with Disney CEO Bob Iger while he was ‘three pints in’ helped save Spider-Man by keeping it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So while Kimmel told Tom that Iger had credited him for the patch-up between Sony and Marvel, Tom said, “I wouldn’t say it was entirely my doing,” and later jokingly added, “I saved Spider-Man!” Holland told Jimmy that he was devastated over the split and asked for Iger’s mail and contact number, wanting to thank him for changing his life. Iger asked if Holland would be available to ‘jump on the phone’ and when Iger called Tom, the latter was at a pub with his family and was ‘three pints in.’ ALSO READ: Spider-Man Tom Holland Mocks Hulk Mark Ruffalo, Calls Him The Biggest Marvel Spoiler
