With the country reeling from controversy after Twitter boycotted Tanishq for their ad allegedly displaying ‘love jihad’, the micro-blogging platform is demanding a boycott of the streaming giant Netflix due to the kissing scene that was shot in the premises of a temple in Mira Nair’s series, ‘A Suitable Boy’. A lot of people on the internet are accusing the series of promoting love jihad and a BJP leader, Gaurav Tiwari has also filed an FIR against Netflix regarding the same.

Gaurav Tiwari posted a video on his Twitter account and gave details of his FIR on it while also announcing that he will be installing the Netflix app from his phone. After that, a section of Netizens started the Twitter trend of #BoycottNetflix. They expressed their fury over the scene where Lata kisses her interfaith lover in the temple premises. In his tweet, Gaurav Tiwari wrote that Netflix has shown kissing scene within temple premises. He wrote, “As per the story, a Muslim man is in love with a Hindu woman. But, why were all kissing scenes shot within the temple premises.”

Netizens demanded for #BoycottNetflix, and while one user wrote, “his is not our culture what Netflix is showcasing #BoycottNetflix,” another one wrote, “How dare @NetflixIndia showed this disgraceful act?? Is this for what temples are there?? Shameful!! #BoycottNetflix.”
