Abhay Deol is quite choosy when it comes to his projects. It took him 2 years after Happy Bhag Jayegi to return to the big screen with Zero, which sadly didn’t do well at box-office. His career has been topsy-turvy but he has always managed to be noticed through his sharp performances.
Now, sources state that the actor has bagged a meaty role in a web show. Abhay will be seen playing the main role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s web series which is based on the 1962 Indo-China war and the Great Indian Army under the leadership of Major Shaitan Singh. Also, this is going to be the most expensive web show on Hotstar.
We contacted Abhay to know more on the web series, but he remained unavailable for comment.
Abhay hasn’t explored the digital space much except for the Netflix film called Chopsticks last year. It saw him play the character of a con man and Mithila Palkar played the female lead.
Speaking of his upcoming projects, Abhay will be seen in Sagar Ballary’s Jungle Cry. The film will be a biopic on the life of rugby coach Rudraksha Jena of Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) who led the team of rural Odisha boys to a big win in London. Emily Shah, who has assisted big budget films like The Fast and The Furious and Jersey Boys will be paired opposite the actor
