Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan To Go Live For ‘Bollywood Ki Home Delivery’, To Announce OTT Release Of Their Films?
Ever since theatres and cinemas were shut owing to the Coronavirus lockdown, several films were reported to be releasing directly on OTT platforms, thereby skipping a theatrical run. So as Disney + Hotstar announced that Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan will come together virtually for a star-studded event, called ‘Bollywood Ki Home Delivery’, it led to speculations whether this is to announce the digital release of their films Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, The Big Bull, Sadak 2 and Coolie No 1, respectively.

While Disney + Hotstar did not reveal what the event will be about, but going by its title ‘Bollywood Ki Home Delivery’ and with theatres shut across India, it is likely that the virtual session has something to do with the announcement of the release of their upcoming films. The stars will come together virtually today at 4:30 pm.  While there had already been reports that Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, The Big Bull, Sadak 2 might get a digital release, that wasn’t the case with Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No 1. However, since he is also a part of the star-studded event, people wondered if Coolie No 1 too will be releasing on an OTT platform.

However, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Varun Dhawan will merely be hosting the live event, and that it’s not likely that the film will have an online release.

A source told the portal, “Coolie No 1 is directed by Varun's father David Dhawan who strongly believes in theatrical release. He would not let Coolie No 1 arrive on a streaming platform. If, at the last moment, Coolie No 1 makers have made a deal for online release, then we don't know. But that's unlikely."
