Ammy Virk On Bhuj The Pride Of India,' The Film Didn't Work, But My Character Got A Lot Of Appreciation' - EXCLUSIVE
Ammy Virk, who made his Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride Of India opens up to the response to his film and his next film '83 with Ranveer Singh. Bhuj which was released on the OTT platform received mixed reviews from the critics and audiences alike.
Ammy Virk, famous in the Punjabi industry has entered Bollywood and is now making his mark. His latest film, Bhuj: The Pride of India, premiered on Disney+Hotstar on August 13. Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film also stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk, and Sharad Kelkar. The film marks his debut in Bollywood, although the film didn't do well, the actor is grateful that the audience has loved his work.
The actor who played Flight Lieutenant Vikram Singh Baj Jethaaz in Bhuj said, "I was worried will people accept me or no in my debut film Bhuj. But though the film didn’t work much, my character got a really good appreciation. Whatever the critics have written, which I read and saw through my PR team, the response was really good, and further, I hope that whichever movie releases you will be able to see me my work in a much better way. So if you like my work then I will surely work on this further."
Ask the actor if he was disappointed that '83 couldn't be his debut film tow which Ammy responds, "No there is no such thing. This was going to happen somewhere sometime and also it is going to come someday. So there is no worry, it’s going to be good, so there is no problem like this everything is okay."
Meanwhile, Ammy also awaits the release of his next film Qismat 2 with Sargun Mehta, '83 with Ranveer Singh which is directed by Kabir Khan. The film was earlier scheduled to release last year, however, due to the pandemic, the film is put on hold.
