Borat 2 Registers Mind-Boggling Numbers, The Movie Was Viewed By Tens Of Millions In The Opening Weekend
Mockumentary, Borat 2 released on Amazon Prime Video has registered some amazing numbers in terms of viewership
Borat sequel’s trailer which hit the digital space on October 2, 2020, a mockumentary which sheds light on America, focusing on Donald Trump and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, was followed by the release of the movie on October 23, 2020, on OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video. The movie was liked by the audience as well as the critics starring Sacha Baron Cohen in the lead. As per reports from the streaming platform, the movie has already got millions of views in its opening weekend.
According to Variety, this Amazon Prime Video’s latest release has garnered tens of millions which can be above 10 million or below 100 million, as the OTT platform did not reveal the exact numbers. As per Samba TV, TV analytics provider, the movie has garnered a viewership of 1.6 million based on the US household calculation in its opening weekend. These said views were garnered by the movie from the release date, 23rd October till October 25, 2020, which is quite commendable.
It has broken the records of Mulan which premiered on Disney Plus that had garnered 1.12 million household stream views. Besides this, the movies can’t be compared as viewers paid a big moolah to watch Mulan on Disney Plus, but Borat’s sequel was included in Prime Video subscription.
According to the OTT platform, Borat watch party was joined by more than 1 million netizens on Thursday night. The interactive session included a question and answer session with the actor and also netizens were seen participating in the dance party.
